HIROSHIMA

As I hear the Japanese children laughing as they walk by with not a care in the world. I stare at the ceremony on TV remembering the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. When you live with the Japanese you discover how gentle, considerate, and enthusiastic they are. The Japanese military was of course  brutal and cruel in the past. During war we try to dehumanize people in order to justify our actions. "They are not like us"  We can see the same strategy being used by governments today.
That it's okay to Bomb Bomb Iran. Governments know that citizens will agree to anything if it's a big enough "crisis". (WMD)

Watching the children of Japan enjoying their life without fear is what I hope for all children. We have to fight harder to defeat Senator McCain and the neocons because I am convinced that "soft power" will never be used on their watch. We have to focus on peace a very powerful state of mind. It's time to transform a tragedy into a lesson learned. We can't do anything about the past but we can make sure it doesn't happen again. Let's raise the bar, we do have the power to change if only we are passionate and vigilant enough to do what is right. Governments would much prefer for us to be apathetic and docile but we have a surprise for them. We are not going to settle for mediocrity and lies anymore. We on Mydd are passionate and believe we can make a difference. We know with the right people we can accomplish anything. Let's take a deep breath and keep our eyes on the prize. Let's remember why we are so passionate and that we have so much in common and a love for our fellow man (Except for Rankles) We have to focus on what issues we feel will really make a difference and what we expect of our new President. Prepare for success because we are going to win. Let's
start with peace on Mydd. I apologize to anyone I have offended on this site and wish you my best.
My thoughts go out to all who have lost loved ones due to war. PEACE

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE

Before you leave MyDD please consider it is the job of every good and bad troll to Kill Joy. Kill the enthusiasm. After all that's what separates Senator Obama from so many other politicians. This guy is different, This guy is going to prove what "Soft Power" can really do. This guy needs writers just like the ones who are thinking of leaving. This is the guy who I happen to think will bring about Universal health care and make the world more peaceful by demonstrating real leadership. I think MYDD is great in comparison to other sites. We are guests and there are rules which many of us have broken in minor ways (me)and some in a major way.(YOU) In my opinion the moderators have to protect the site and make sure groups and writers like myself don't take over. We have two groups at least that come on to this site and if they wanted they could recommend their buddies they could change or manipulate the atmosphere of mydd but of course they would never do this but that's why we need moderators who have more perspective and information about their site and the people. Personally I didn't like the Bill Clinton I'm a racist diary from the member of Clintonistas for Obama or C40s How does this help Clinton or Obama.? McCain would have loved it because McCain used the race card this week too. Would have I deleted this diary? No but I don't have all the information and I don't know the track record of this writer. We have many people who say they are for Obama but do everthing they can to hurt the reputation of our candidate.
So for thoses of you who are considering leaving. DON'T! If it helps write diaries don't comment. Take a break but we can't afford to lose our voice. If you leave then it's up to people like me. (Were Doomed)

BREAKING THE VP CODE! OBAMA/CLINTON 08

As many of you know I have supported Senator Obama "forever" I have also written two diaries as to why I think Senator Obama decided on Clinton awhile back but now I think I've have "broken the code" and it is even clearer to me that OBAMA HAS CHOSEN CLINTON as his VP. (I could be insane)

Let's go back to Aug 26th 1920 which by the way is considered within the "Progressive Era" This date marks the ratification of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote.

Now let's go forward to the second night of the Democratic convention Tuesday August 26th 2008 aka "Hillary Night"
This will mark the 88th aniversary of a women's right to vote so what better way to celebrate than appointing Senator Clinton as your running mate?
Now I know why they are calling it "Hillary Night"

Can you imagine knowing that you appointed the FIRST female VP and that you would always be known as the President who helped women shatter the ultimate glass ceiling?

Can you imagine the excitement?

Can you imagine the unity?

Can you imagine the votes?

Can you imagine McCain's face?

Can you imagine Bill smoking a Cuban cigar and playing a drum in the White House?

Can you imagine the trolls? and my face if I'm wrong? Ma ma!

Choosing Senator Rodham Clinton would represent real change and why not do it during this important anniversary. The timing is perfect because the best man for this job is a woman and that woman is Senator Clinton.

By choosing Senator Clinton, Senator Obama would live up to "Change you can believe in" What a way to start a Presidency!

This has been a charade the stage is set. Senator Obama will announce Senator Clinton as his running mate and they will both make history by winning in November. That's why we call them the Dream Team!

Thank you to all in advance for considering this recommended material. (Hint)

The New Talking points

It seems clear from the latest diaries that Senator Clinton not being picked for the VP will be used by the Republicans to split the party. It's a very effective tactic. I've noticed trolls bashing Senator Clinton to get us fighting each other again and it's starting to work.

The Republicans know how passionate Senator Clinton supporters are so it isn't surprising that the Republicans would use her to divide us. When Senator Obama does announce his VP I hope we will all take a deep breath and not be manipulated by Republican trolls.

Personally I hope he chooses Clinton. The other candidates seem boring in comparison. But that's HIS choice and I'm sure he will have some good reasons for choosing a particular person.
But get ready for the fireworks because whomever is chosen will be attacked. By not choosing Clinton we will be attacking ourselves with lots of help from Republicans. If we thought the Primaries were hot watch out our opponent is desperate and we are only 6 points ahead.

Obama /Clinton 08 Dream Team

As a long time Obama supporter I have become more and more convinced Senator Obama has chosen Senator Clinton as his running mate. In fact as I've stated before in a past diary I believe he decided on her a long time ago.
Senator Clinton brings everything you would want. Number one in her favor are VOTES. We would win in a landslide and imagine the excitement on the part of Clinton supporters. People sometimes say the Clintons represent the past. Choosing the first woman to be vice president of the United States represents CHANGE and EVOLUTION. It shows everyone a woman is qualified to be vice president and President. It shows every boy and girl what is possible and that "glass ceilings" are meant to be shattered. Just by choosing Senator Clinton, President Obama would always be remembered for choosing the first female Vice President of the United States. Looking at Senator Clinton's legacy we can see how she has earned this opportunity. What about Bill?  Senator Obama has already stated he will use the former President. The upside of having Bill Clinton to send around the world far out weighs any downside. By choosing Senator Clinton you get an enthusiastic former President who can accomplish so much more than he has in the past. Finally who can compete with Senator Clinton for the Vice Presidency? Senator Clinton would be a great political move but more importantly the best man for this job is a woman and that woman is Senator Clinton. That's why it's a Dream team.

Supporting McCain is the real deal breaker.

Old Guard/New guard, Black/White. Male/Female, Left/Right  Clearly the Republican party have tried to instill division. We have all experiensed this at times on this site. But they have received a lot of help from us. We all have "Deal Breakers" issues that we will not compromise on and this is where the Republicans seem to be different, they will do anything to win. It seems to be part of the Democratic profile that we would rather win the "battle" than the "war". An Obama administration
has so much upside and of course a McCain administration would be unthinkable. But with our "help" we can make a McCain administration a reality. Imagine if we gave McCain four years. Your deal breaker may be different from mine which is why supporting McCain is the ultimate deal breaker. This is one deal breaker we can all agree on. Our candidate Senator Obama is doing a great job for a young "inexperienced" candidate. The Republicans are hammering him. PUMA is angry, Jessie Jackson is jealous. I don't believe we have a problem with diverse views or holding Obama's "feet to the fire" We do have a problem with being proud and supportive of a candidate who could grow with our help into one of our best Presidents. Let's welcome debate but let's defend our candidate at every turn because we have so much to LOSE.

Obama has already chosen his VP?

Why do I have this nagging feeling that Senator Obama has already chosen his running mate? I also have the feeling he will surprise us.  Adding those two feelings that I can't back up at all. I will make a prediction Senator Obama will choose Senator Clinton. Senator Obama has always said he likes to surround himself with people who have strong even opposing views. Senator Clinton is definitely strong and of course has so much to offer.
I know some of you will say the Clintons have too much "baggage"
but I don't think that would scare Obama off. I personally like Edwards better but Senator Clinton would guarantee a stronger win. I know it's just speculation but I'm sure he decided his running mate a long time ago. Choosing Senator Clinton would surprise a great many people and the down side? We would have nothing to fight about anymore. Well at least for a few minutes.
Has Obama already chosen his running mate?

Defining Success President Obama's first term.

Senator Obama has said he would consider his first term a failure
if all troops were not withdrawn from Iraq, if health care was not affordable for all, and if the Economy was still in recession. Personally if he was to accomplish even the first two I would be satisfied. Creating an affordable health care system for all would be significant. Ending the Iraq war would save American lives and billions of dollars that could be used in other areas such as taking care of our wounded troops for the rest of their lives, Education, Foreign aid, and the list goes on. My question to you is what would satisfy you? What does President Obama have to accomplish to be rewarded with a second term? We disagree on many issues, even candidates, but we all have issues that mean something to us. I'm very curious to know what others believe to be their TOP issues. What would satisfy you and what would exceed your expectations? As you all know I love our candidate but once he is elected I will pressure him in any way I can. This is what a lot of people don't seem to understand, the people with the highest of hopes will demand the most of our president. No free rides from me, I demand results and I personally believe he will deliver. He needs our support and he needs to know what is important to us in order to lead effectively. I have never considered Senator Obama perfect or a God I consider him an intelligent man who sincerely wants to make America better.
